Titel: Are TD limbs specific to raiser length?
Beitrag von: alex321 am Februar 01, 2014, 22:02:17
Can one swap limbs made for 18" riser to 16" riser?

If so, in what way does the behaviour change?
Thanks

Maybe, depends on the riser ..
What model, Brand and limbs ?
ILF ?

You can do so ... Of they fit onto the shorter riser ...  :engel:

In my experience with ILF components ...

The nominal LBS written on the limbs will Increase approx 1 lb. per Inch shorter riser. In Most of the cases .

An example :

Most Recurve limbs which are offered for Fita Riser are nominated to a certain riser length.

e.g. Long limbs built for a 25" riser will make a 70" Bow with 40 LBS ... If you Put them on a shorter riser they will Increase the nominated power as Said before ... With my 15" Tradtech Riser they Put on 10 LBS of drawweight ... And made a Bow with 60" and 50 LBS

But this is Not a common rule ... Works in Most cases... But It allways depends on the construction of the riser And the limbs.

Best wishes

Thank you...

So it will not cause more handshock, for instance?... just increase the draw weight in some way..

Its all a bit hypothetical at the moment.. .I just wondered if you can mix and match without too manny problems

If its ILF ithere's a fair chance that the combination will work, bolt on limbs you need more luck ..
Check carefully ..
