Titel: Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: alex321 am Februar 16, 2014, 18:59:56 It has split at the nock end about 2cm. They cost me a lot of money from the US, so I am not happy. I have noticed that the nock is not glued. Could this cause a problem, maybe by slamming into the back of the arrow on impact?
It is my first day shooting them... :( Any advice greatfully recieved... I bought these arrows, because they were supposed to be a stronger alternative to cedar. I did not mind spending 14 Euros if they were going to last twice as long... To make matters worse, my cedar arrows shot better... even thought they are the incorrect spine...:) Alex Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: roscho am Februar 16, 2014, 19:05:39 You ordered GT Trads from the US ? Why ? There are lots of Dealers in Germany carrying them.
And they CAN split if you smack them on a stone, use a nock collar, you can get them in Germany from Tophat-pfeilspitze.com Never glue GT nocks in, they are just push-ins .. Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: alex321 am Februar 16, 2014, 19:48:53 ah.... There is a strong possibilty that it hit a stone. The back-stop is a mound of soil and I saw some stones there...
So the nock collars make them a little stronger? Thank you for the link... I bought them from the US, because they were very fancy with lots of decoration. Well it seem that it was my fault, I shall not write to the guy. Even though I bare-shafted the arrows, I am a little irritated that my cheap cedar ones fly straight and these wobble in flight... They are for my new hyrbid bow from J-bow in Finland. I must review that bow here. Cheers ALex Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: eiger2000 am Februar 16, 2014, 21:20:43 Hi Alex - its possible to repair your expensive shaft. Take some toothsilk (the right translation?) and wrap this realy strong around your damaged part of your shaft. Next put some drops of an superglue on this construction, put the Nock inside and your shaft will flight for many shots.

Thank you for your responses... I now have mint flovoured arrows... I think this new concept could catch on... Its called "dental floss," by the way. I am not sure why... Alex Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: Epona am Februar 17, 2014, 08:17:38 Hi Alex,
I had this problem too and I "killed" four arrows bevore I realized that the problem was not the shaft but the nock. The nocks I used had an edge which damaged the shaft when the arrow hit a hard target. I changed the nocks and: no more problems. Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: alex321 am Februar 17, 2014, 09:39:19 I will get some nock collars too, but am having trouble finding the correct page on Roscho's link to buy from..

there are 3 models (sizes), look for your shaft type .. ;) happy shooting pls show some pics of the J-Bow .. is it now LEFT or RIGHT ? Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt? Beitrag von: elha am Februar 17, 2014, 11:13:21 I had the same Problems ...
Changed my Nocks from standard GT Nock to the lighter GT Acculite Nock ... Its weight is only 2/3 of the original ... Less mass in the back and no more damaged shafts are the result ... and they don't break like the original . They are actually designed for compoundshooting but do work good ... as far as four serving on the string is fitted to the GT nock diameter . Kind regards Titel: Re:Warum mein neu GT Trad Kaputt?
